Massachusetts State Trooper Kevin Trainor, 30, was killed in the line of duty on May 6, 2026. His shift had just ended when a 911 call reported a wrong-way driver traveling on Route 1 in Lynnfield. Rather than heading home, Trainor responded to help. Minutes later, his cruiser was struck head-on by the wrong-way vehicle. Both Trainor and the driver were killed in the crash. Authorities and fellow troopers described his actions as heroic, saying he likely prevented a larger tragedy by responding immediately.

Trooper Trainor was a 2023 graduate of the Massachusetts State Police Academy and had previously served as an Essex County corrections officer. He was remembered by family, friends, and colleagues as a dedicated public servant who chose to help others even when he was off the clock.

We made this patch in his memory ♥️
